Sri Anggalamman Temple, Kuala Selangor

May 1st, 2008

Our next journey was a tiring and took at least 1 hour 15 minutes to reach there. These temple is situated deep inside the estates in Kuala Selangor if I’m not mistaken.  It had been very famous for the past decade whereby most people rating this temple as one of the most powerful Amman temple around. Explains why so many people sacrifice goats and chickens in this temple.

Please note that  to go to these temple it will take around 30 minutes drive deep inside the estate path. It is not a friendly road I would say. But once we reach the temple , I think it is all worth it.

Not much of information could we gather from the unfriendly man who seems to handling the temple.

It seems the statue of Amman laying down had been there for 108 years.

Pechayiamman Temple, Simpang Lima Cemetery, Klang

April 30th, 2008

Our initial plan of visiting three temples today had to be shorten down to two because we did not have ample time to visit both. The first temple that we visited today is Pechayiamman Temple in the Klang Cemetery. It’s a 5 minutes drive from the Klang General Hospital.

This temple is located on the hillside of the cemetery. We have to walk through again another Indian cemetery this time but lucky us , we went in the afternoon. So, it was not quite as scary.

The reason we visited this temple because of the statue of Pechi ‘Patti’ which is very rare in Malaysia. It is one of the most exclusive statue. After a 5 minutes walk towards the hillside cemetery, you will reach this temple.

By the time we reach this temple, it was already night. The whole point of us visiting Banting temples is to take a picture of this very exclusive temple. When i visited this place where Indians perform the ceremony’s for the deceased 4 years back, there is a special statue here. The statue rose from inside the beach sands. That’s the specialty.

But when we came back this time around, the ceremony’s looks like it had been performed as usual , but there were no more  Kaliamman statue. We have to park the outside the road and walk around 5 minutes inside the Malay graveyard to reach here. It is situated on the shores of the beach.

As it was already night, there were nobody and sure enough, we felt the chills. Nevertheless, we managed to take the pictures. Please note that this is not a temple, but more like a place where the ashes of the dead will be let go to the sea. You can see the surroundings , a lot of clothing’s, pot’s and so on fills the place.

This is the first of the many exotic temples that I will be visiting. It will be much like a journey man pictures. For those who is unaware of the purpose of this pictures, please visit the Introduction page.

The exact location of this temple is something that I’m not really unsure of. The history of this temple also is unknown. But what is fascinating about this temple is the Muniswaran sculpture which seem to be naturally made out of the rocks.
